La Costa Brava

La Costa Brava

The good weather is approaching, the temperatures are starting to rise and summer is almost here. From Barcelona to the border with France, there are about 50 coastal towns and each one more special, but before I start recommending beaches, coves and some restaurants, let me set you on the map.

Olively is based in Girona, the capital of the province and where the Empordà and the Costa Brava meet. Girona is a small city with a lot of charm, I recommend you visit it if you've never been, especially the Old Town.

The Empordà is divided into two, "Alt" and "Baix", but both are a must visit. At the Alt Empordà we have the famous town of Cadaqués, surely it sounds familiar to you since it is very tourist, mostly thanks to the painter Salvador Dalí, and if you have not been it yet I highly recommend you visiting at least one day, I personally like the near town of Port de La Selva, which is a small fishing village. If you visit El Port de la Selva you have to go to the L'Art restaurant located very close to the port.

In the Alt Empordà, the coastal towns of Portlligat, Cala Montgo in Roses and Cala Joncols are also a must. If you are looking for a privileged hotel next to the sea, I recommend the Hotel Cala Juncols. And if you are riding an inland route, I recommend visiting the towns of Peratellada, Vulpellac, Púbol and la Pera.

If we are in the Baix Empordà the most charming coves for me are Tossa de Mar, Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc, Begur and Aiguablava. And if you are thinking of taking a getaway to be able to savor both the coast and the inland towns, I recommend you visit Pals, Monells, Foixà and end up at the Dos Kiwis Brewing in Rupià.

During your visit to Tossa de Mar, I recommend you to end the afternoon with a cocktail and the best tapas at Bar Lola, a very special place on the Costa Brava.

I mean, there is much more to see but we leave it for a new blog, right? I can't wait to see your routes and photos on instagram! For me, the Costa Brava is a very special place and where I was inspired to create the collection of the Olively liquid soaps, the smell of these transports me to this magical place that I call home.

xx,

Ivon
